This body of work Are You Awake Yet? (2019) was created during my Diploma of Photomedia at Billy Blue.

Artist Statement:

Are You Awake Yet embodies the notion of seen/unseen and the passing of time set in the environment of a small country town. I also wanted to convey feelings of emotion through the images such as nostalgia, loneliness and a sense of forgetfulness. Each image encapsulates a specific part of the town where a façade is shown but I chose to always hide a certain amount of information or withhold some context to create an air of mystery. I also purposely excluded physical human presence from the images and captured windows where the curtains have been drawn to give the feeling that everyone has gone to sleep or that time has forgotten about this town and simply moved on.
